Length of box = l
Height = x
w = 1 – 2x
l = 1 – 2x
a) V = (1-2x)(1-2x)*x = x(1-2x)^2 = x(1 – 4x + 4x^2) = x – 4x^2 + 4x^3
b) Domain is [0,1/2] smaller or larger values make negative sides.
c) dV/dx = 0 so 12x^2 – 8x + 1 = 0, x = (8+/- sqrt(64 – 4(12)(1)))/(2(12))
x = (8 +/- sqrt(64 – 48))/24 = (8 +/- 4)/24
x = 12/24 = 1/2 or x = 4/24 = 1/6
x = 1/2 would mean volume = 0 so this is not a maximum

I’m one of those people that don’t look like I belong to any specific race. Technically I’m more black than a mixed person, but DNA wise I just happened to get a mix of features that make my race impossible to judge. The closest guess is usually Native American which I was stereotyped as being after I said I had mental illness.

I’ve been called every single race besides Asian, even a gypsy. White people think I’m either mixed, some even think white, Italians think I’m Italian, Hispanics hispanic, Indians Indian, etc. etc. I notice they always seem disappointed when I told the I was black, many outright call me a liar and refuse to believe it. One woman said I was too beautiful to not be Indian, an asian woman said I was too beautiful to be black, another I must be Italian beause I’m so pretty, white people say I’m too smart to be a minority so I must be white. Whites are the most clueless about race I can tell you. I gave up and now I don’t fit in with any racial group and it really does bother me sometimes. My personality is also a mix of races and culture. It seems every race has a feeling of pride and identity, but I’ve never had that.

I think the major reason why is that I grew up in a cult and everyone had only one identity like cardboard cutouts. Now I am dating a white guy and find myself attracted to only white guys, but they are the most clueless about race than any other race I’ve dated. Most guys just see a beautiful face and big boobs anyway… I just adjust to the culture race I’m dating and they assume I’m one of them. I’ve been let into many different groups and i know alot of their secrets… It kind of sucks but sometimes I think I’m betraying my black race, but they never accepted me either and rejected me so **** them too. Sometimes I hate all races and that races exists, i wish I could just be me… Just me…

Sigh, you’re not special, hun. I know half East Africans half white people who look completely white , probably more so than you and they’re doing just fine.
They are not confused and weird they way you seem to be. You seriously need to move or something if you feel this way.

cutouts would be sweet! lay on a large piece of cardboard and trace roughly around your body in a pose.. you can make them like the candy-land game pieces. also, don’t do a dress code for only 10-15 people especially if it is barb-b-q style at your home.. dress codes are for like massive parties in a formal setting

Well if it’s going to be next june, why not plan an outdoor event? Set up some tables, buy some tiki torch candles and have a hawaiian theme…very easy. You could wear a nice sundress, and serve bbq. Have little umbrellas for your guest’s drinks. Hawaiian themed decorations are everywhere that time of the year. Cheap, easy and fun. Good luck.

I’m working on a story right now (I’ve posted to Prologue already on Y!A) and I’m having a difficult time creating characters. I have the main character created already.
I would like to make characters with some depth. something more then just cardboard cutouts that are in many books nowadays. I know I should add some quirks, some things that makes them human, but how should I go about making appearances, backgrounds, etc?

Any experienced writers have any tips?

well what makes sense to me, is to loosely (but closely) base their quirks, backgrounds, attitudes, appearances on your friends or family or just people you knew in high school.

Im 10 years old and i want my room to be less babyish and look better and cooler.
Right now my room is kinda boring. I always try to rearange my room and take some baby stuff out but it just is boring. My room is acually pretty big, my room is in the attic. When you walk in there is a wooden desk, white drawers, baby buckets with wood shelf, wood shelf, jb cardboard cutout, a really cool fluffy chair and red table :L dresser, kindergarten play cabnet thing, elmo chair (i try to cover it with blankets sometimes bcuz its wicked cool, whiteboard calender and pin boards and my bed and a bed table with lamp. I have millions of jb posters My carpets are cream (cant really change carpets, i can put rugs down maybe) I have alot of blue, red and green and wood. I love putting like decor and vases and stuff like that, i love peace, and quotes. I already have wall stickers tho.
I love neon colors, justin bieber (nohate), basketball, animals and birds, hehe.
Please help! No joking around please, i need ideas really bad.
