I felt really bad that my sister who loves Harry Potter felt she would never get to see Hogwarts in Florida (Universal studios). SO, to celebrate the new movie I decided on September 24 that we would throw a party. But not just any party, we would convert our ENTIRE home into a Harry Potter themed world! It took four straight days to set it all up, 500 dollars to buy all the necessary foods and decorations, and about 3 months of preparation and planning to make it all possible but I- excuse me- we did it! The party was a great success and everyone went on about how magical and fantastic it all was. The living portraits, the virtual rides, the candy, the wands, etc. I was very pleased with how it all went. As far as seeing the film at midnight goes, it was also very awesome! Had a great time! Let me hear what your favorite part was about the party, and a Happy Harry Potter day to all of you.

@xMerylxStreepxLuverx I made them on photo-shop CS2, but the quibbler I got from mix-matching different things I stole from deviant art. Then I printed them and taped the pages together.

@crb999 the fishing wire was pinned to the ceiling with tacks and the candles were really light so they didn’t small. Got them at the dollar store in two packs. Yeah, real candles would be awesome, but if that IS possible then you would need some special type of wire I’m assuming.
June 6th, 2011 at 7:59 am
@funudafilms so you had the fishing wire hanging from the ceiling? because i want to do a similar effect with real candles and for obvious reasons that won’t work lol
June 6th, 2011 at 8:20 am
@crb999 electric candles on fishing wire. oops! I mean- magic!

Aw, this is so wonderful! I love the attention to detail, especially Honeydukes and mom dressed up as Molly Weasley. It’s so sweet of you guys to do this! Looks like you had some teens and older there too, but I’m sure that for the kids in particular it’ll be a night they’ll never forget.
