Operant Conditioning Lab: Animal Learning: “Theories and Principles of Learning” (PSYC 350), students train a rat using positive reinforcement (sweetened water) to respond to a “click” form any position in the operant chamber (Lab 1), press a bar to receive positive reinforcement (Lab 2), press a bar only when a light is on (Lab 4), press one bar to turn a light on, followed by a press of a second bar to receive positive reinforcement (Lab 5), and engage in any behavior other than pressing the bar to receive reinforcement (Lab 6).
